Part of the World Bank funded Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Programme (CARCIP) national broadband project involves the installation, maintenance, and operation of an undersea cable system connecting Grenada, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines. The subsea fibre optic cable was recently laid through St Vincent and the Grenadines. It is hoped that this increased capacity will have a positive impact on broadband penetration in the region and significant improvement in the quality of Internet services.
