Facebook announced it is changing its hate speech policy in order to remove posts that denies or distorts the Holocaust. Prior to this change, Facebook did not delete such content with the aim to safeguard the freedom of expression in the platform. Moreover, Facebook will direct people searching for terms related to the denial of the Holocaust to credible information outside the platform. Facebook has changed its policy given data showing an increase in antisemitic violence. In a recent survey, the platform found that almost a quarter of adults in the USA ranging from 18 to 29 years old do not believe in the Holocaust or believe that it is exaggerated.
