Belarus and Kazakhstan are intensifying collaboration in IT and digital development following discussions between Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan and Kazakhstan's Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Bagdat Musin. They explored opportunities to apply advanced IT solutions from Kazakhstan in Belarus, particularly in e-government and digital public administration.

This includes adopting QR-signing for user identification, implementing platforms like Smart Bridge and kaspi.kz, and utilizing data catalogs and digital services.

These discussions aim to enhance Belarus's ongoing Digital Government project, steered by the Digital Development Center. Both ministers expressed enthusiasm for expanding cooperation, foreseeing benefits for innovative development, and streamlining public services in both countries.

Why does it matter?

Kazakhstan is expanding its reach in digital governance by exporting its IT solutions to other countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Sierra Leone, and Togo. This initiative involves sharing platforms like Smart Bridge and Unified Platform for Internet Resources of Government Agencies. The country aims to increase its digital exports to$1 billion by 2026.
