The US Government has unveiled its intention to allocate$300 million for the establishment of a data center in Ghana through the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

As part of the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII) project of the G7, the White House has announced that Africa currently possesses less than one percent of the global data center capacity, despite housing 17% of the world's population. This investment aims to address this disparity and set the stage for a digital revolution on the continent. By enhancing access to cloud-based technologies, reducing internet costs, and promoting greater accessibility for women, this initiative seeks to make Africa a more competitive destination for various industries. The investment comes following the Vice President's recent visit to Ghana and is expected to lay the foundation for significant advancements in the region.
