British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with United States President Joe Biden in Washington. The aim of the visit was to strengthen ties between the two countries and discuss priorities in the bilateral agenda. With regards to trade, Joe Biden played down the chances of brokering a post-Brexit free trade deal with the UK, unenthusiastically commenting that 'we'll have to work that through'. This stand-alone deal has been one of the priorities of UK's bilateral agenda, but UK ministers have started considering the possibility of joining an existing trade agreement instead -possibly the US, Canada and Mexico agreement known as the USMCA.
