What is GPON ONU Matching Status is mismatch?

Background Information

The ONU match state refers to whether the actual capability of the ONU is consistent with the template that the ONU is bound to. It includes: initial state (initial), mismatch, and match. The match state is determined to some extent by the operation state and configuration state of the ONU.

The matching status of the ONU can be queried correctly only when the operation status of the ONU is ONLINE. If the actual hardware capability of the ONU is consistent with the ONU service template to which the ONU is bound, the match status is match, otherwise it is mismatch.

In all other configuration states, the match status is initial.

The matching status of ONU does not affect the normal forwarding of the service flow, but only reflects the matching status between the actual capacity of ONU and the ONU service template.

To facilitate service issuance, OLT has to perform service preconfiguration and batch configuration for ONU, which needs to be configured when ONU is not online. Assigning a template to an ONU is equivalent to adding virtual ONUs, and subsequent service configurations are all based on this virtual ONU. when the ONU template does not match the actual capacity of the ONU, the following two situations exist:

The capacity defined in the ONU template exceeds the actual capacity of the ONU, and the matching status is mismatch. If the ONU is configured based on the exceeded capacity in this case, it will result in the matching status of mismatch when the ONU goes online.

The capacity defined in the ONU template is less than the actual capacity of the ONU, and the matching status is mismatch. The actual capacity of the mismatched part is not allowed to be configured and cannot be used.

Positioning Methods

The ONU can go online normally under the GPON port, but when you use the display ont info command to query the ONU information on the OLT side, the "Match state" is displayed as "mismatch".
