According to a news report, internet services were disrupted on Monday 30 August, 2021 in South Sudan after activists planned to mobilise citizens to protest against the government of President Salva Kiir. The call for protests against the government by activists, according to the report, was attributed to widespread corruption and unfilled promises by the government to provide basic essential services to citizens. The network disruption was confirmed by the Netblocks, a global internet monitoring NGO, through their live network data. Netblocks' live network feed however showed that internet services were fully restored in the latter part of Monday.
