In the context of growing tensions between the US and China, Google has deleted more than 2500 YouTube channels linked to Chinese disinformation campaigns. Google did not disclose much information about the specific channels that were eliminated from the platform. The company mentioned that the channels were removed between April and June and that they mostly posted "spammy, non-political content".
